HTC Magic and WiFi, a solution to some problems
Tuesday, November 10, 2009 by cybercaronte
My great HTC Magic WiFi works well in some and not others. To make matters worse, my house is the worst of all works. Some symptoms were slowly, hanging in the Android Market, but was little sign near the router, etc. ...
After reading, try and find a solution, I got so far works perfectly.
Regardless of the router you have, look at least these three parameters, eye these changes do not affect navigation at all other WiFi devices that use it, but anyway before changing be sure to point the original values and all do it at your own risk:
- Go to the router and look for the section of the WiF i something like Advanced or Advanced Settings.
- Search for "Mode Protecction CTS (Clear To Send, is a collision avoidance system especially when there are many WiFi networks) and switches to Disable / OFF.
- Change now "Beacon Interval" to 20 (you can try a higher number), which is the time to send a signal that contains all the information of the network in principle is set to 100. It is useful to reconnect in case of disconnection, in theory the higher the better value as quickly reconnect.
- Then apply the changes and then restart the router.
- And finally, disconnect and connect the WiFi on your Android (reconnect it again.)
It should work correctly.
Turn on WiFi at home if you have a device like 3G Android is vital, so you can listen to online radio, watch videos, etc ... without using your share of the operator that you download, not to mention the Internet will go far faster.
If you have another HTC model or another, maybe so you can solve with these steps.
